PPLD Databases

The local public library system, the Pikes Peak Library District (PPLD), has several animal databases that may be helpful.  To access them you'll need a PPLD library card (http://ppld.org/library-cards).

Gale Virtual Reference Library  Choose Science and then Grzimek's Student Animal Life Resource, 2005.  Encyclopedia that provides information on more than 4,000 species including amphibians, birds, fish, insects, invertebrates, mammals and reptiles.

International Wildlife Online Encyclopedia that covers thousands of species of mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, fish, and invertebrates as well as all major biomes and habitats. Marshall Cavendish

Endangered Species Encyclopeida with color photographs and maps illustrate the many species threatened by extinction. Gale eBook

Searchasaurus  Article database with access to children's magazines and reference works, including EBSCO Animals
