Use Other Local Libraries

You may borrow books and use resources from other libraries in Colorado Springs.

UCCS (University of Colorado at Colorado Springs)

Colorado College

You'll need to have your student ID and a public library card to check out items. There is generally a limit of 2 or 3 items that can be checked out at a time. You can use the databases available to UCCS or Colorado College students while you are in their libraries.

PPLD (Pikes Peak Library District--public library)

The public library also offers a lot of good databases and titles. There are libraries throughout the city.

Can't Find What You're Looking For?

Try requesting an item through Interlibrary Loan (ILL)

Need a book or an article that PPCC Libraries do not own? Then borrow it from another library. It's EASY!

Any Student, Faculty, or Staff member can request the use of other libraries' materials. Here is how it works:

  1. Make sure that PPCC Libraries do not own the item. Check the catalog to see if we have it.
  2. Use FirstSearch to look for your item in WorldCat, a world-wide catalog of library holdings. Search by author or title.

    • (If you are off-campus, you will have to log in to use the FirstSearch database. Follow the instructions you will see on your screen.)

  3. When you find the item you want in the results list, click on the title to get the item's full record.
  4. From the toolbar located at the top of the full record screen, click on the interlibrary loan button, which is labeled "ILL" and looks like this: WorldCat ILL Button
  5. Fill in the form. Required items are marked with an asterisk.
  6. Usually, you will not have to pay anything to get an interlibrary loan. If you do not want to pay any fees, note that in the comments field on the ILL request form.
  7. Click "Submit," and your request will go directly to our staff who will process your request and send it off to participating libraries.
  8. When notified, pick up your item at the PPCC campus library you specified on your request form.
  9. Most ILL items check out for 30 days, and you will be given your exact due date when you pick up your item.
  10. Turn in your item at the same campus where you picked it up. Library staff will send it back to its home library.
